Intern, Food Service
An internship at Ridgecrest Conference Center offers an experience to grow professionally, spiritually and personally as you receive on-the-job training and learn skills needed to serve in a fast-paced Christian hospitality environment.
The intern program includes weekly bible study and fellowship with other team members. You will be provided unique opportunities for your growth and development through enrichment and service. Team managers and supervisors will coordinate your work schedule, daily responsibilities, and special project assignments.
Responsibilities
Food Service will present an excellent opportunity for interns to work and learn about the various functions of a large food service operation in a Christian setting. This position will help you develop customer service and organizational skills. You will work side by side as a team player in a diverse setting. Customer service skills and techniques will be taught and utilized regularly. There are three specific areas:
Front of House/Catering - this includes buffet line operations in the dining room and catered events throughout campus Food and Retail Outlets - quick service operations including our coffee shop, ice cream shop, and retail shop Kitchen/Back of House - grow in your culinary experience through cooking and baking with various levels of guest volume Requirements Education, Work Experience, and Other Qualifications
Ability to work August to May (40+ hours/week) Commit to the overall program (including bible study, service projects, events, etc.) High school graduate or GED preferred Must have a desire to work and learn in the food service operation and hospitality industry Excellent customer service skills required Ability to interact with customers/guests in a positive manner Knowledge of catering industry helpful Previous hospitality, food service, or catering experience preferred but not required Possess a sincere desire to serve others with excellence and grace Be flexible, teachable and hard-working Demonstrate maturity Have excellent communication skills and be self-motivated Willingness to serve guests with a positive attitude Ability to work long days, busy weekends, and be prepared to work hard both mentally, and physically Eligible to work in the United States Benefits
Housing provided Lunch is provided for interns in the dining hall every day except Sunday. Breakfast and lunch are also provided when we host guests on campus. Paid a $400/week stipend
