The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have about 120 people who live on-site year-round: full-time staff/families, seasonal staff, and gap year students. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for a somewhat remote living.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Housekeeping Associate
Department: Guest Services
Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

Job Purpose: The Housekeeping Associate will work toward fulfilling our mission and giving guests a great experience by cleaning and maintaining the guest spaces. This role will uphold efficient cleaning processes in order to serve our guests well.

Overall Responsibility

Uphold established standards of cleanliness in all guest spaces and manage staff to uphold the same standards.
Take responsibility for the pulling and disposing of the public/private trash from around various guest rooms/meeting rooms on a daily basis while in use.
Work in coordination with the manager to ensure the linens are cleaned in a timely and efficient manner either in house or through a laundry vendor.
Be available for on-call shifts during off hours while guests are on property to meet unexpected needs.
Prep and clean camp before and after every guest group.
Coordinate seasonal housekeeping staff, as well as the other staff (i.e. other full-time staff, etc.) that help during clean times.
Serve within a schedule that is based on guest needs, which often includes working nights and weekends.
Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: ?We operate year-round. We have guests on property almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.

Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience:
The “ideal” candidate will have:
Ability to communicate well with team members, staff, and guests
Ability to manage peers, Glorieta full time staff, interns, and summer staff in a positive and respectful way
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, typing, basic math, basic computer functions, organization, and be detailed oriented
A strong desire to learn new things quickly
A strong sense of self-motivation
A personal relationship with Christ that permeates all aspects of his/her life
Previous experience in any of the duties listed is preferred
Good work ethic
Willingness to perform routine tasks regularly and on time, with deadlines weekly and monthly for most tasks
Ability to lift and carry up to 60lbs over distances including up and down stairs
Have a natural ability or strong desire for organization
Willingness to perform many tasks alone
An eye for detail and how to make spaces more excellent
Passion for cleaning, problem solving, fixing, beautifying, leading by serving, and stewardship
Attitude of service, enthusiasm, taking initiative, integrity, and flexibility

Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location in Glorieta, NM.

Travel: ?Possible infrequent travel to workshops and training.

Physical Demands: ?Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand all day, bend, squat, be on hands and knees cleaning, climb stairs, be around strong cleaning chemicals on a daily basis, be willing to get your hands dirty.

Work Environment: ?Most work will be done throughout campus, including indoors and outdoors. This may include working in inclement weather conditions throughout the year.

Training: ?Guest Services employees will be given opportunity for improvement through appropriate training.

Compensation: Full-time hourly, onsite housing, health and wellness plan, 401(k) retirement package after one year, and paid vacation time. See HR and/or potential supervisor for details.
