JOB SUMMARY:
Prepares meals within quality, quantity and service guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares meals within quality and quantity guidelines using standardized recipes and menus. Provides leadership in absence of Culinary Manager. Assists in training for cooks and other staff as directed by the Culinary Manager. Maintains kitchen facility, including equipment, following health and safety guidelines. Reports needed repairs to Culinary Manager and Director of Operations. Maintains set-up, clean-up, and serving systems. Seeks to develop capabilities in areas of leadership and food preparation. Actively supports and participates in spiritual life activities including prayer and devotionals. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Maintains a valid California Driver’s License. At least one year of prior experience in related food service position. Knowledgeable about and be able to enforce food service health and safety guidelines. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate small and large kitchen appliances and tools. Requires moderate to heavy physical work; some lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person.
