Hume New England Seasonal Staff

Since 1946, more than 1.5 million youth and adults have been exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ at Hume Lake Christian Camps. Our camp and retreat centers are interdenominational, year-round camping ministries dedicated to the glory of God. We are committed to sharing a clear presentation of the gospel and giving guests an opportunity to respond. Our camps extend from the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts to the Sequoia National Forest, and the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California.


JOB TITLE: Seasonal Staff (Non Summer)

DEPARTMENT: HNE - Operations

REPORTS TO: Operations Director

FLSA STATUS: Seasonal Salary or Hourly

BENEFITS: Bi-weekly pay (less meals taken and $50 shared room)

NOTES: Must be 18-years old

We want our staff to enjoy camp and welcome you to participate in the activities and chapels that we offer when you are not assigned work. All staff work a 5 or 6-day week with 1 or 2 days off per week.

Who:
Hume in the Berkshires of new England is looking for men and women who love Jesus, want to serve the Lord for a season, get paid, AND get your online school paid for by Hume.

How much work:
You can work up to 30 hours a week while having plenty of time for online classes. We'll even loan you a computer if you don't already have one!

What will I do:
You will work on teams in various departments, including Food Service, Activities, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Grounds.

Think you can handle a few areas, like:

General:
-Running fun activities (such as archery, axe throwing, paintball, laser tag, etc.)
-Cooking & cleaning
-Preparing for camp for new guests
-Upkeep and maintenance of grounds and facilities
-ALL under the direction and supervision of a full time staff member of the respective department

Small print:

Because we invest time and effort to train you well, a 2-month minimum is preferable
We'll pay for Sophia.org or up to $100 a month to the school of your choice
Space is limited
Hume deducts $50 per 2-week pay period for housing and meals as taken
On-Campus housing is dorm-style, comprised of several same-sex roommates per unit, and is limited to singles only due to limited accommodations space.


Work Environment & Physical Demands:

You will be required to live on-site during the camp session. Experience working with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds, working as a team as well as independently.


Physical requirements include bending, lifting, sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, running, and possibly swimming. Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and normal range of eyesight and hearing required to communicate with staff and manipulate camp equipment. Must operate with daily exposure to the cold, heat, rain, sun, and varying other weather conditions and under irregular working hours in a camp environment.
