Kitchen Staff - Position Description
Reports to: Food Service Director
Status: Seasonal, Full-time, Hourly
Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour
Location: Campus by the Sea (Santa Catalina Island, CA)

Position Summary: The Kitchen Staff Position supports the mission of Campus by the Sea by assisting in all aspects of food service Dining room prep while fostering a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn new skills, and a heart for ministry.


Key Responsibilities and Characteristics

• Participate in the preparation & serving of food.
• Assist in the delivery, storage & tracking of food products.
• Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen areas & equipment.
• Lead our guests in cleaning and re-setting our dining room & dish area.

Required Qualifications

• A willingness to be trained in the areas of food prep, food handling, serving, hosting, dish steward, laundry.
• Ability to exemplify the love of Christ through humble, excellent and genuine guest service.
• Must possess excellent personal hygiene and manners.
• High School graduate and at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
• Annual affirmation of the Campus by the Sea Statement of Faith, Mission, Purpose, and Core Values.
• California Food Handler’s License

Preferred Qualifications
• ServSafe Certified Food Protection Manager Certification,
• Professional certifications (Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, AED).
• Food handling experience
• College degree, trade school certification, or relevant coursework.
• Chrisitan camping and/or ministry experience.
