Position Description: Food Service Director

Reports to: Operations Director

Job Summary: Responsible for the successful serving of meals to all guests and campers at Frontier Camp. The Food Service Director is a ministry position that helps accomplish Frontier Camp’s mission.

Food Service Director Responsibilities:
- Plan the menus for summer and retreat groups subject to approval of the
- Hospitality Director for retreats and the Program Director for the summer.
- Communicate with Hospitality Director and Program Director in order to ensure food-related needs of all guests are satisfied and schedules are in sync.
- Coordinate with vendors and place orders based on summer camp and retreat group needs.
- Track and maintain an efficient inventory system.
- Supervise the preparation and timely service of all meals for all retreats and at both Teen Camp and Junior Camp for summers.
- Keep costs within annual budget for all necessary expenses.
- Stay educated on and comply with kitchen and safety standards.
- Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, dining halls, pantry, cooler, freezer and cleaning areas.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff during retreats and summer camp.
- Every Frontier Camp staff member is responsible for defining, cultivating, leading and/or representing our Christian community as an expression and exercise of our
- Christian beliefs. As such, the Food Service Director is an integral part of our community and plays a vital role in carrying out Frontier Camp’s mission.

Specific Qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to move freely throughout the kitchen and dining hall.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to cook and serve food outdoors as the need arises (often several times a week in the summers).
- Three years of experience in food service management
- Active Food Handling License
- Willing to commit to 12-18 months in this position
