Program Youth Manager
Location: Forest Falls, CA Department: Youth Program Employment Type: Full-Time Minimum Experience Manager/Supervisor Compensation: $66,560 annually
PURPOSE To provide leadership to Forest Home’s youth ministry program. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Youth Manager is responsible for supporting the Youth Department in planning, coordinating, and overseeing all youth-related activities and programs at Forest Home. This role requires a strong leader with a deep Christian faith, a heart for youth ministry, and the ability to inspire and mentor young people. The Youth Manager will play a crucial role crafting and designing the gatherings and being an emcee at a majority of them. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Development & Leadership: Assist in the design, planning, and execution of all youth programs, including summer and winter camps with energy and creativity. Provide oversight and leadership to parts of the seasonal Youth Program Staff, ensuring that they are equipped to mentor and guide campers effectively. Collaborate with the Director of Youth to continuously evaluate and improve program offerings. Flexibly manage various tasks, from leading daily meetings to coordinating activities, adapting as needed to meet the camp schedule's demands. Address stressful situations appropriately in a fast-paced, interactive environment. Youth Gatherings Creating and crafting Youth large group gatherings, ensuring Forest Home provides an exceptional experience for our partners Hosting and Emceeing gatherings. Training additional staff to co-host gatherings Working with Speakers and Bands to best integrate them into the large group gatherings Youth Mentorship & Support: Build meaningful relationships with Campers and Church Partners. Foster a sense of community and belonging among Campers, encouraging positive peer relationships and respect. Administrative & Logistical Support: Assist with the coordination of camp logistics. Help manage camp resources, including materials, equipment, and facilities. Support the recruitment, training, and supervision of seasonal staff. Safety & Compliance: Ensure the safety and well-being of all Campers by enforcing camp policies and procedures. Assist in maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to youth programming. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIECE: Bachelor’s Degree preferred At least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Must have a valid driver’s license QUALIFICATIONS: Spiritual & Leadership Requirements: A committed Christian with a strong personal faith and a passion for youth ministry. Demonstrated experience in youth leadership, camp ministry, or a related field. Strong understanding of Christian principles, youth culture, and the challenges facing young people today. This role requires a strong leader with the ability toeffectively navigate tough conversations with staff, ensuring that all team members are supported, performance standards are met, and conflicts are resolved in a constructive manner. We are seeking a candidate with experience in stage production and stage hosting, who can confidently lead and engage large groups in a dynamic and Christ-centered environment. Personal Attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with Youth, Parents, Staff, and Church Pastors. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a servant’s heart. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position oversees multiple seasonal residentials. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate office machines. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.
