Executive Chef

Berea Ministries is searching for a qualified, highly motivated, relational, and organized individual who will join our kitchen team to further expand our impact in New England by ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of the kitchen. This individual will assist with planning menus, ordering food, and executing each meal in a timely manner.

This individual must be experienced in cooking, food ordering, and leading a kitchen staff of employees and volunteers. This role also requires someone to be detail oriented regarding administrative tasks, adaptable, and ready to learn. This is not an entry level position. 

The Executive chef facilitates a welcoming environment for all campers, staff, and guests by planning and providing delicious meals, making accommodations for those with dietary restrictions, and leading a team of staff and volunteers. This role requires a high level of communication between various specialties as well as with the kitchen staff at other sites. 

Qualifications:

• An ideal candidate is disciplined, dependable, teachable, good with people, has strong communication skills, general common sense, flexibility, a passion for excellence, and is willing to grow.

• Experience leading a kitchen is required. 

• A ServSafe certification is preferred.

• A passion for Jesus Christ and His Church is required.

• Experience working in camp ministry in some capacity is preferred.
