Qualifications:
• 1+ years kitchen experience or Degree/Certificate in Culinary Arts. • 6 Months Supervisor or Management experience. • A ServSafe certification is preferred. • A passion for Jesus Christ and His Church is required. • An ideal candidate is disciplined, dependable, teachable, good with people, has strong communication skills, general common sense, flexibility, a passion for excellence, and is willing to grow. • Experience working in camp ministry in some capacity is preferred.

We are a family of ministries from and for New England, reaching people through camps, retreats, and church and leadership training events for all ages.
Our Kitchen is versatile and flexible to meet the needs of all different programs and guests. With rotating menus, we strive for high quality and unique food that matches the atmosphere of each Camp program and group we serve. What you will be doing:
• Manage the kitchen operations in accordance with established guest service, food quality, and sustainability standards • Review daily menus • Cook delicious food • Receive deliveries and manage inventory • Communicate needs with purchasing personnel • Ensure quality of products and all food prepared • Meet with the Executive Chef/Site Director to review Kitchen needs, cleaning schedule/project status, and health/safety/sanitation follow-ups • Ensure each kitchen work area is stocked with specified tools, supplies, and equipment • Ensure staff and volunteers prepare menu items following recipes and yield guides, in accordance with Berea Ministries’ standards • Help develop new items and menus • Observe guest reactions and work with staff to ensure guest satisfaction • Conduct frequent walk-throughs of each kitchen area and direct respective personnel to correct any deficiencies • Review group numbers and food cost daily and ensure that excess items are utilized efficiently • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching • Work schedule varies and will include working on some holidays and weekends

They will be a leader in the kitchen, responsible for helping to develop others and point guests towards taking their next steps in their walk of faith.
