Head Cook
POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Head Cook is responsible for maintaining and preparing meals for our summer camping season and supervising summer kitchen staff.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervise summer staff and volunteers assigned to the food service area. • Produce quality and visually appealing meals for guests. • Maintain a clean and efficient kitchen. • Plan and prepare menus, keep track of each group’s food allergen and special food requests. • Work with Purchasing to order and purchase food within the camp's budget. o Provide details to Finance Manager. • Proficiency in food service and kitchen equipment operation. • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift or carry items 40 lbs. or less. • Visually identify hazards, needed repairs, and necessary cleaning throughout the kitchen, and be able to respond appropriately.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Actively live and practice the Christian faith and live a lifestyle in accordance with the Statement of Faith and Beliefs detailed on the Beartooth Christian Camp website. • Must be 18 years of age or older. • Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks. • Kitchen experience of at least 6 months preferred but not required. • Prior experience cooking food for large groups preferred but not required. Capability to prepare quality meals for groups of up to 300 people. • Hold a current ServSafe® Manager Certification (or equivalent) or the ability to complete food manager training prior to summer 2025 start date. • Experience in supervising and giving direction to other workers. • Demonstrated ability to get along well with people and be “guest minded” at all times. • Agree to live on site or within a reasonable daily commute to the camp property. • Other duties as assigned
