Lakeside Bible Camp is a Christian Camp that began in 1959 by a group of churches in the Puget Sound area of Western Washington, with a mission of proclaiming Christ and equipping believers. We are located on beautiful Whidbey Island, in the town of Clinton.

Lakeside Bible Camp is looking for a ministry minded individual, devoted to serving Jesus Christ in a Christian Camp setting. The overall Duties of The Kitchen & Guest Services Manager are Managing the kitchen for both Guest Groups and Programmed events, booking and hosting Guest Groups and managing the cleaning of the camp.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kitchen
• Recruiting Volunteers for weeklong and weekend programs.
• Hiring Kitchen and Dish crew staff for Guest Group events.
• Constructing balanced menus.
• Taking inventory of product.
• Ordering food through Sysco, U.S. Foods and Costco.
• Keeping the kitchen, fridges, freezers, dry storage and dining hall clean and in order.
• Implement and follow Washington State Health Department Guidelines and regulations.
• Put away deliveries.
• Personally cook or lead the cooking of all meals for Guest Groups, and direct or instruct volunteers to cook for Programmed events.

Guest Groups
• Fielding Guest Group Inquiries.
• Answer inquiring Guest Group’s questions with the correct information.
• Giving tours to prospective Guest Groups.
• Booking Guest Groups.
• Managing the Guest Group’s Calendar.
• Putting together contracts using a template on word and Excel.
• Hosting Guest Groups during their stay at camp.
• Checking Cabins after groups leave to turn off heat and make sure cabin doors are shut and locked.

Accommodations
• Hire staff or recruit Volunteers to execute the cleaning of the cabins.
• Personally clean the cabins if no staff or Volunteers.
• Keep the cabins furniture in order.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Servant’s heart and mature walk with the Lord.
• Working knowledge of a professional kitchen and food service operation.
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple objectives. Effective planning, organizing and implementing skills.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work irregular and extended hours as required. Willingness to learn new concepts, methods, and skills.
• Must be willing to work with and manage Volunteers.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to follow through with other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Professional camping and/or ministry experience.
• Standard First Aid and CPR, adult & infant certification (and willingness to pursue education to become certified).
• A working knowledge of current Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
