Camp Eder Camp Coordinator
Function: The Camp Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the administration of Camp Eder, its staff, programs, facilities and services while maintaining a sustainable and efficient camp environment
Accountability: To the Camp Eder Board of Directors supervised by the Executive Committee of the Board and responsible for carrying out the policies and directions of the board.
Qualifications:
1. A Christian with growing faith and a heart for evangelism as well as an understanding and acceptance of the Church of the Brethren values. This person needs to be a strong spiritual leader with a passion for outdoor ministry.
2. Ability to implement the strategic vision plan as directed by Camp Board.
3. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent life/work experience.
4. Previous administration and camping experience preferred with strong fiscal, management, and communication skills.
5. Interpretation of the mission and vision of the camp, including fundraising, to area congregations and beyond.
6. Ability to work well with others and partners within local Southern PA CoB District Committees.
7. Creative thinker and visionary, so as to project, anticipate, and provide for the future needs of the camp.
Job Description
- Responsible for the total operations and security of Camp Eder, which include supervising over and supporting the positions below:
- Program Coordinator
- Hospitality Supervisor
- Office Manager
- Maintenance/Properties Coordinator
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Understand accounting functions/software (Quickbooks) necessary to support Camp Eder from the financial perspective
- Understand the financial position of camp in sync with Camp Treasurer
- Understand and use Camp Brain or other electronic registration software proficiently
- Public Relations and Marketing
- Represent Camp Eder to all community, local, and state agencies
- Maintain relationships with SOPA COB District, COB denominations, and churches that have left the district
- Personnel
- The Camp Coordinator will ensure all department head positions are filled in consultation with the appropriate committee. These positions include:
- Food Service Employees
- Office Staff
- Hospitality Supervisor
- Program Coordinator
- Maintenance/Properties Coordinator
- Summer Camp Staff (counselors, volunteers, food service employees)
