Position: Camp director Salary: Based on education and experience Benefits package: • housing and utilities in home on camp • Health insurance allowance • Retirement stipend • Paid holidays shall include: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Day, Good Friday, Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, your birthday • Vacation time granted as follows: • after 6 months – 1 week • 1 – 5 years – 2 weeks
The right person for this position will demonstrate the following: • A growing, active faith in Jesus Christ and His Word • The ability to catch, carry and cast vision • The ability to speak and communicate well publicly • The ability to effectively work with people in a team development atmosphere • The ability to creatively develop camp/retreat programming • An organized understanding and approach to budgets and finance • An appreciation for and commitment to excellence in all areas of life • Experience in operating a fully functioning camp and retreat center • The ability to care for, maintain and further develop the facility to align with total camp ministry and appearance • The ability to receive instruction and feedback from the Board of Directors
Duties will include: • Carrying out the overall mission of LCC • Managing a working office • Use of social media • Developing promo materials • Keeping contact with donors, clients, visitors using letters, brochures, thank you notes, etc. • Maintaining and developing church relationships across the region • Promote LCC and our ministries through community organizations and events • Connecting with campers and retreat attenders • Managing facility using skills of maintenance personnel: proper repair, development in accord with overall camp appearance, etc. • Developing and managing the annual board approved budget (Presently, $400,000 • Directing the development of summer camp programming, retreats, etc. • Recruiting summer staff, hired and volunteers • Carefully monitor expenses of camp/retreats, adjusting user’s fees as necessary • Maintaining the calendar of events • Utilize volunteers in the operating and developing of camp programs and facilities • Keeping accurate records of finances/taxes, bringing reports to regularly scheduled board meetings • Give direction to hiring part time or full time staff • Give reports to regularly scheduled camp board meetings (5 meetings/year)
